Armies of Exigo Rendered Cinematics (2004)

Digic Pictures has created a series of five high quality full 3D rendered cinematics for ‘Armies of Exigo’. These rendered movies include intro, outro and three shorter films to explain the story at each major plot point in the game.

In the making of the animation sequence, Digic’s highest priority was to pay extra attention to detail. This is reflected in the delicacy in their movements and by the exceptionally detailed models with textures comprised of several gigabytes per character. The team’s goal was to create a uniquely drawn, yet photorealistic representation of this fantasy world, which would leave a serious impression on its viewers, not only regarding its details, but the overall sequence.

The intro movie of Armies of Exigo was selected for the SIGGRAPH 2003 Electronic Theater Program. It was the first Hungarian computer animated project ever to make it to the SIGGRAPH Festival's Electronic Theater compilation.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)
Digic Pictures has created 60 visual effect shots for Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

In Spring of 2003, when a previous Digic project was chosen for an award, the owner, Andrew G. Vajna, decided to give the team a new challenge: visual effect shots for T3:Rise of the Machines. Even though the team already had visual effects experience, this was the chance for Digic to show Hollywood its full capabilities.

As a test, Vajna gave Digic two shots, VH100, and CR010. If they were done well, there would be more to follow. They turned out so well in fact, that 58 more were sent Digic's way. By the end of post production, Digic had earned the trust of the crew and director and also managed to pick up the nickname the "Mad Hungarians".

Digic's goal for Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines was to exceed expectations. Their work on the film is a milestone for many reasons, but mostly because it joined Digic with a Hollywood Mega-budget film, overcoming a physical separation of more than 6,000 miles.
